Monochrome Is Not a Style. It Is a Decision.
Monochrome is often described as a visual language. In reality, it is a decision system. Working in monochrome removes symbolic shortcuts. Color no longer carries emotion, reference, or narrative. Every choice becomes explicit: proportion, pressure, repetition, interruption. This practice treats painting as a form of structural thinking.
